Door Not Working on Battery Backup Power

If your door is not working on battery power for your PULSE 300 Series door operator, try the following troubleshooting steps:

For battery backup breaker issues:

  • The issue may be related to the battery backup breaker being popped. To reset the breaker, press in on the white breaker button located in the bottom-middle of the power board.

For drained or dead batteries:

  • Check the batteries' voltage first. If it's low (less than 10V DC per battery), allow them to charge for 24 hours with AC power ON.
  • If the batteries do not charge after this period, they should be replaced.

For door balance issues:

  • A door not functioning on battery power may result from the door being improperly balanced. Select 'BALANCE CHECK-UP' from the STARTUP MENU and adjust the door's balance as required.

For main power interference:

  • The door might not operate on battery power because the main power is still active. Disconnect the unit from the main power supply by unplugging/disconnecting it. This ensures the system attempts to switch to its built-in battery backup power.

To verify battery backup functionality:

  • Check the screen with a flashlight. If text is visible despite the screen being dim, then the operator is in battery backup mode.
  • On the PULSE 300, battery backup mode will keep all peripherals powered and will automatically open/close via a momentary press of OPEN/CLOSE while the batteries are still sufficiently charged.
  • Once the batteries get too low, to conserve power, the unit will turn off most devices and require constant pressure of OPEN/CLOSE to operate the door.
